To combine basic biomedical sciences with clinical research for unique competitive advantages of graduate students

Unique competitive advantages are required for graduate students since the rapidly growing number of biomedical science majors has elevated career challenges. The research focus in this institute is accordingly settled as cancer biomedical sciences. Other than performing independent research at IBMS, several joint projects have been also developed among the institute and three major medical centers in southern Taiwan, including Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (KSVGH). These collaborations consolidate a platform to integrate basic biomedical and clinical researches, as well as the interaction between basic scientists and clinicians for translational medicine. Numerous jointed appointed professors from these medical centers are enlisted to provide additional instructions to graduate students.
